The Online Course Call Process

All State Training Office and Training Resource and Data Exchange (TRADE) representatives will receive an invitation e-mail on December 30, 2009 containing a link for the Course Call page — this is where you will select the course(s) and date(s) of each course delivery. Before you can begin selecting your courses, you will be asked to create a password to access the Course Call ”shopping cart.“

Instructions for State Training Office Representatives
2-Day On- and Off-Campus Program Course Selection

For courses held on the campus of the National Emergency Training Center:

State Trainging Office representatives will select 9 course offerings; only 8 can be scheduled as a 2-Day On-Campus (State Weekend) deliveries. Available weekend dates are listed on the Course Call page and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Before you make any course selections, you will need to check the number of available spaces for the weekend you are considering (this information is available in the Course Call Memorandum Package).

In addition to making your course selections on-line through the new Course Call page, you will need to complete the Shipping Information Form and the Course Coordination Plan Form for each of the courses you select (this information is available in the Course Call Memorandum Package).

For courses held in your State/Region:

Courses are designed for delivery on two consecutive full days. Please avoid conflicts with holidays, national, State or local fire service events, sporting events, hunting seasons, etc. (See Dates that Reduce Training Opportunities — this information is available in the Course Call Memorandum Package.)

You must provide all training location information for each course you select by completing a Course Coordination Plan Form (this information is available in the Course Call Memorandum Package). In addition, you will need to identify any cosponsor or local hosts for the individual course offerings. Please use the ”remarks“ section on the Course Coordination Plan Form to indicate if the offering will be in conjunction with a State fire school, association meeting, or other event.

Please identify the nearest airport to the class site along with the estimated time/distance of travel to each class site. It is important to note that all course sponsors are responsible for assisting the assigned NFA instructor(s) with local airport/class site/transportation. All State sponsor information must be provided for each course selection, so it can be advertised on the USFA Website. All of this information should be included in the Course Coordination Plan Form.

Specific shipping instructions for each course (title) selection must be included in the Shipping Information Form (this information is available in the Course Call Memorandum Package).

Instructions for TRADE Representatives
6- and 10-Day Off-Campus Program Course Selection

TRADE Regional POCs will select 3 course offerings and 1 alternate for your region.

In addition to making your course selections on-line through the new Course Call page, you will need to download and complete the following forms for each course selection. These forms are available in the Course Call Memorandum Package:

  1. Shipping Information Form,
  2. Course Coordination Plan Form,
  3. Site Recommendation Check List, and
  4. Site Support Quotation Form.

You must identify the nearest airport to the class site, and all TRADE host information must be provided for each course selection so it can be advertised on the USFA Website. All of this information should be included in the Course Coordination Plan Form.
