National Fire Incident Reporting System news bulletin: users may now resume reporting

The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) has moved the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) to the new data center environment and we are ready for you to resume reporting in accordance with your state data submission guidelines.

Here's how to get back online

At your earliest convenience, please log in to NFIRS. If you have any problems, contact your NFIRS State Program Manager for assistance.

For users who didn’t receive a notice to log off the system by April 28

If you didn’t receive the notice and attempted to enter incident data:

  1. Verify that your incident data was not saved by clicking on the Incident Open function and performing a simple search for your incidents reports.
  2. Log in to the NFIRS Web-Based Summary Output Reports Tool and submit a Monthly Incident Count Report to check that your incident data is available and matches your previous incident counts.

If your data wasn’t saved or doesn’t match your previous incident counts, immediately contact the NFIRS Support Center at fema-nfirshelp@fema.dhs.gov or call 888-382-3827.
