Kansas has failed to pass legislation banning or limiting the sale of novelty and toylike lighters.
2010 Legislative Session
May 28: On March 22 the House Committee on Federal and State Affairs recommended the Bill as substituted. The House Committee on Federal and State Affairs rejected the Bill as substituted on the House Floor on April 29 and sent the Bill back to Committee. Senate Bill 342 died in the House Committee on Federal and State Affairs on May 28.
Feb. 11: The Kansas Senate approved SB 342 that would ban novelty cigarette lighters. The measure was approved 32-8 without debate and sent to the House for consideration.
