2013 Legislative Session

Jun 18: The Assembly passed AB1011 and sent the bill to Governor Andrew Cuomo for signature.

Jun 13: The Senate passed SB933.

Jan 15: Assembly Bill 1011 was referred to the Codes Committee.

Jan 9: Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz introduced Assembly Bill 1011 which prohibits the sale and distribution of novelty lighters. It was referred to the Consumer Affairs and Protection Committee. Senator Jack Martins sponsored the Senate companion bill SB 933.

2012 Legislative Session

Jan 4: Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz sponsored and introduced Assembly Bill 8402. The Bill, which prohibits the retail sale and distribution of novelty lighters, was referred to the Consumer Affairs and Protection Committee. The bill was not passed.

2011 Legislative Session

Mar 15: The Assembly Bill was referred to Codes. The bill died in committee.

Mar 9: The Assembly Bill was amended and recommitted to Consumer Affairs and Protection.
