Pennsylvania has introduced legislation banning or limiting the sale of novelty and toylike lighters.
Mar 30: House Bill 1247 was filed and introduced to the House Judiciary Committee by Frank Burns in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. House Bill 1247 is an Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, prohibiting the retail sale and distribution of novelty lighters; and imposing a penalty. No vote is scheduled.
In 2009, Pennsylvania introduced House Bill 1522, which banned or limited the sale of novelty and toylike lighters.
