Online courses through NFA Online

The National Fire Academy (NFA) offers American fire and emergency services personnel a free, flexible and convenient way to receive career-enhancing training. Through NFA Online, students can complete self-paced courses 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or college credit are available for most courses.

We'll be offline Sept. 30 - Oct. 12, 2015

Sept. 8: NFA Online will undergo an upgrade in October but unfortunately that means some downtime. The upgrade will transition us from Java/Flash/Flex to HTML 5. Please be patient as we work to improve our system for you. NFA Online will be back on or about Oct. 12, 2015. Please plan your coursework accordingly.

Getting started is easy:

  1. Find out what online courses are available in NFA course catalog. On-campus students: select the Catalog link for Q code pre-course assignments.
  2. From the course description page, select the link “Apply Online.” This will take you to the NFA Online website.
  3. Select the link “New students: click here to register now!”

In addition, select bulletins from the U.S. Fire Administration’s Coffee Break Training series are available for CEUs through NFA Online.
