The guidebook, available in English, French and Spanish, gives first responders detailed information on hazardous materials to better manage accident or spill response during the critical early stages of an incident.
PHMSA wants to put a copy in every public emergency service vehicle in the country. The agency will distribute over 1.5 million free copies directly to fire, Emergency Medical Services, and law enforcement agencies and departments around the country. First responders can request copies from their state ERG distribution coordinator.
The guidebook is also available through the 2020 ERG mobile app and download on the PHSMSA website.
PHMSA is always looking for feedback and comments from first responders. Submit your name, organization, contact information and comments to ERGComments@dot.gov.
