ADC:Loki, 7-year-old Labrador retriever
Handler:Dennis Woodring
Community:Dauphin County, Pennsylvania
Training:Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Accelerant Detection Canine Program

Loki was instrumental in identifying evidence used to convict an arsonist involved in the three-year arson crisis in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Fire Investigator Woodring and Loki work with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division. Loki was raised as a guide dog for the blind but couldn’t kick her instinctive urge to sniff. Because of this, she was referred for training as an accelerant detection canine.

Loki has worked on many cases, traveling as far as Rochester, New York, to nab robbers who torched a strip mall. She is also involved with her community, participating in the Paws Abilities Expo sponsored by Susquehanna Service Dogs where she wows children and adults alike with her olfactory skills.
