The Federal Emergency Management Agency continues to monitor the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as it relates to COVID-19. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the CDC is encouraging organizations to promote social distancing, hold meetings via videoconferencing, reduce non-essential travel, and adjust or postpone events and gatherings.
Due to the volume of qualified applicants received during our May–June 2020 application period, and the need to place students from COVID-19-related course suspensions into future offerings, the National Fire Academy will suspend the Oct. 15 – Dec. 15, 2020 application period.
The next application period will open on April 15, 2021 and remain open until June 15, 2021 for courses starting in October 2021.
Students who applied during the May 1 – June 30, 2020 application period should have received a notification indicating their qualification for their requested class. We are working hard to place students into the updated schedule. Students will be notified soon concerning the course schedule.
Students previously accepted in an NFA on-campus delivery and notified of course cancellation will need to reapply during the next application period of April 15 – June 15, 2021.
We appreciate your understanding and support of the U.S. Fire Administration's National Fire Academy. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon.
