Arriving on campus

Photo identification

Anyone entering the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) campus unescorted is required to show photo identification that meets REAL ID Act standards. The purpose of the REAL ID Act is to stop terrorists from evading detection by using false identification.

Check to see if your state-issued photo identification meets REAL ID Act standards

If your photo identification does not meet the requirements of the REAL ID Act, you will need to bring one of the following current forms of identification:

If you don’t have a current passport, federal ID card, or state-enhanced driver’s license, we need to run a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check on you. Please email the following information to the NETC Security Office in a password-protected document at least three weeks before your class:

This is a one-time NCIC check and is valid for 180 days. Within the 180-day time frame, you must obtain an acceptable form of identification to access NETC for another course or activity.

If you were accepted into an on-campus NFA course but don’t have the required identification or a successful NCIC criminal history check, you must reschedule your course. We can’t allow you to enter the campus, and you won’t receive a stipend reimbursement.
