The Executive Fire Officer (EFO) and Leadership Symposium is an annual event for EFO Program graduates, current and future fire and emergency medical services (EMS) leaders, and students at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Learn more about the goals of the symposium.

The 34th Annual Executive Fire Officer and Leadership Symposium was held at the National Fire Academy April 5-6, 2024, with over 250 people in attendance.

The symposium agenda included topics of: Leadership Lessons from the Lab, Building Resilience in Leadership, Leadership Through Upstream Thinking, DEI/Diversity Fatigue, Human Resources Hot Topics, Mental Health, Put Your People in Their Place…To Ensure Success, WUI/Risk Reduction, Generational Leader, and Lessons in Leadership.

This annual event is not limited to EFO graduates, but to all current and future fire and emergency medical services (EMS) leaders and staff.
