Courses

Invest in yourself. The National Fire Academy (NFA) has the courses to help you meet your professional development goals and reduce all-hazards risks in your community. The courses you take through the NFA can be considered for college credit.

Application periods for resident courses are as follows:

March 15 – April 15 for July, Aug. and Sept.
June 15 – July 15 for Oct., Nov. and Dec
Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 for Jan., Feb. and March

The current resident course application period is: OPEN.

Apply between Jun. 15 – Jul. 15 for on-campus courses scheduled from October through December 2026.

You can apply for a self-study course, course vacancy or the State/National Weekend Program at any time.
