National Fire Academy (NFA) courses and programs prepare you to deal more effectively with all emergencies and disasters. Free training is delivered at our campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, online and in your state.

NFA provides specialized training courses and advanced management programs for middle- and top-level fire officers, fire service instructors, technical professionals, and representatives from allied professions.

National Women’s Weekend Program at NFA

This annual 2-day NFA on-campus session is an educational opportunity for fire and emergency medical services personnel. This program strengthens a fire service community through education, personal networking, and a shared collegial experience.

The partnership will expand the timeline from 3 to 6 months and provide assistance for the student through research to their final paper.

Let NFA help you pursue your degree

NFA courses are equivalent in difficulty to college- and university-level courses and can be considered for college credit. We award CEUs and our courses have been evaluated and recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education.

Self-study, instructor-led and live courses

Online learning is a terrific option if you want to take NFA courses. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for most courses. Successful completion is added to your NFA transcript and you earn an NFA certificate.
