Reports and Statistics (Archive)

  • Share on:

The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) was a voluntary reporting standard that fire departments used to uniformly report on the full range of their activities, from fire to emergency medical services to severe weather and natural disasters. The National Fire Data Center analyzed NFIRS data, creating reports with statistics about fires, fire risks, firefighters and fire departments in the United States. This archive contains these reports and statistics for historical purposes, along with the relevant methodology and data sources, as applicable.

Future reports and statistics will come from the National Emergency Response Information System, which does not use the NFIRS specification.
