Jim Myers is the Executive Officer to the U.S. Fire Administrator. He joined the U.S. Fire Administration in March 2024. As the executive officer, Jim provides advice on the day-to-day operations of the organization as a personal advisor to the fire administrator all matters of general management to the administration.
Prior to this position, Jim was a Department of the Army Civilian serving on the staff of Deputy Chief of Staff G-9 (Installations), Pentagon, Washington, DC from March 2021 to March 2024. During this time Jim held various positions culminating as the Executive Officer to the DCS, G-9.
Jim served in the Army from November 1995 until ultimately retiring March 2019 after 23 years of honorable service. Throughout his military career, he served in a variety of overseas assignments including multiple deployments to Iraq and Kosovo, while also supporting military operations at home like Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
Jim received his master’s degree in human resources management from Webster University in 2014 and completed numerous military schools including the Secretary of the Army Leadership Development Course.
