Recreation Activities

The National Emergency Training Center (NETC) offers you a variety of recreational activities during your stay. Membership is required for some of them. The membership cost is $2 and your card is valid for 12 months. You can purchase a card at the Command Post Pub.

Other expenses you may have while on campus include class shirts, class donations and off-campus class dinners.

Student Center

Location: Building B

Hours: 5 a.m. to midnight

The Student Center has a variety of games, including pool tables, darts, air hockey and foosball. A juke box and televisions are also available. Stop by the Coffee Corner for a free cup of coffee or purchase a soft drink from the vending machine.

The Center is also home to the Command Post Pub, a private club under Maryland liquor laws. The Pub, open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., provides beverage and limited food service each evening. You must be an NETC Recreation Association member to receive service in the Pub.

Stay-fit trails (Trimm Dich Pfad)

Equipment available on our 3 outdoor trails includes:

  • Air walker.
  • Cross country ski machine.
  • Leg press.
  • Rowing machine.
  • Sit-up bench.
  • Stair climber.
  • Upright stationary bike.
  • Vertical chest press.

Each piece of exercise equipment has directions for use that include what areas of the body the equipment is designed to target.
